Time to Talk Day: Money and Mental Health at Work
Come join Bippit and our friends at Unmind for Time to Talk Day where we’ll be learning about how money impacts mental health, how you can spot those who are struggling in your team, and how to support them to talk about their financial worries.
📅 Thursday 3rd February
⏱️ 12pm

Time to Talk Day is an opportunity to create a supportive environment at work by having conversations with colleagues about their emotional health, including the often overlooked direct link between mental health and financial wellbeing. In fact:
- Money is a daily worry for over nine million UK adults, and nearly half the adult population (48%) say they have worried about money once a week or more.
- However, 55% of people don’t feel comfortable opening up when they have worries about their financial situation because of shame, not wanting to burden others and being brought up to avoid talking about money; and
- Almost four in ten (39%) people with a mental health problem said their financial situation had worsened their mental health problems.
However, managers need to be equipped with the right tools to have effective and supportive conversations with employees, and this is where Dr Sofia Gerbase, clinical psychologist at Unmind and Samuel Lathey, Bippit CEO shine!
In this interactive session, our expert panel will be providing the tools and takeaways to equip managers to help employees open up about their mental health and money worries and guide them to the right resources. Because when employees bring their whole selves to work it improves a company’s culture, reduces absenteeism and boosts retention.
