2. Accepting the terms

If you’re using the Service, you have to agree to the Terms

These legal terms are between you and Bippit Ltd (Bippit/us/we) and you agree to them by using Bippit’s app (the App) or website (the Website) which are part of the service (the Service) that we provide.

In order to use Bippit’s Service, you need to agree to the Terms. This can be done by simply accessing the Service and consenting when asked. You shouldn’t use the Service if you’re not allowed to do so under the laws of the country that you’re resident in. The Terms apply from the commencement of the Service until a time that you cease to use it.

3. Access to account information

We use a partner to access encrypted data for the Service

To use certain optional features of the Service, you are required to connect data from other financial institutions via our trusted partner, TrueLayer Ltd (TrueLayer). Your encrypted transaction information will then be accessed on an ongoing basis unless you withdraw your consent, which can be done in the App menu or by emailing us at info@bippit.com

By entering your account details via Truelayer, you grant them permission to aggregate your data, which may then be stored outside of your own country to the extent permitted by applicable law. When we retrieve the information as part of the provision of the Service, we are doing so as your representative and on your behalf and not on behalf of any third-party.

This process means that we are providing Account Information Services (AIS) as defined by the FCA. What this means is that we analyse the data from Truelayer, which comes from your various accounts and then display it back to you in different ways and require registration with the FCA to facilitate this. Truelayer will not initiate any payments from your accounts, and you agree that they may use the information for any purpose connected with the Service. We may also on occasion reproduce, distribute, and disclose fully anonymised information at times in the ordinary operation of our business activities.

We do not check the accuracy of the account information and personal information that you provide to us and we rely on you and your account providers to ensure that the information is up to date and accurate. By using the Service, you represent that you are the legal owner of the data in your accounts and that you have the authority to appoint Truelayer to access and retrieve the data on your behalf.

4. Using the Service

Bippit’s basic service is provided as an employee benefit.

The Service provides education resources, tools, calculators, and planning facilities, which allows you to connect information from accounts maintained by third-parties. This is required to show you all your financial information in one place, and we analyse the information to identify insights. All communication relating to the Service is in English.

The Service also provides access to a financial expert, who may be a qualiied finance professional. If engaging with an assigned expert, Bippit’s financial experts will be able to view aspects of your financial and personal profile, except for detailed transaction information.

Financial experts on Bippit’s platform are contracted to provide financial guidance as per the following definitions:

“Guidance” will help employees to identify their options and narrow down their choices but will not tell them what to do or which product to buy; the decision is theirs. Providers of guidance are responsible for the accuracy and quality of the information they provide but not for any decision that is made based on it. Guidance will suggest what the Client can do.

“Advice” will recommend a specific product or course of action for the employee to take given their circumstances and financial goals. This will be personal to them. Providers of advice are responsible and liable for the accuracy, quality and suitability of the recommendation that they make and the recipient is protected by law. Advice will recommend what the Client should do.

If something’s gone wrong, please let us know

At Bippit, we work hard to make sure you never have cause to complain about our products or services or how we look after you. Unfortunately, there may be times that we have made a mistake, and we see that as a chance to learn, and to put things right.

We are subject to UK law and UK courts, and we take all complaints very seriously while investigating them promptly and fairly. If you would like to make a complaint please contact info@bippit.com

16. How we handle complaints

We investigate as soon as possible and keep you updated

Once we receive your complaint, we will acknowledge it by email. We have a maximum time limit of eight weeks to resolve your complaint, but we will work hard to investigate and reply as soon as possible.

If we can resolve it within 3 business days, we will write to you with a summary and let you know what you can do if you’re unhappy with the outcome. If we can’t investigate and resolve your complaint within 3 business days, we will keep you informed of our progress.

Once we have investigated and completed our assessment, we will send you a final response, which will include the full details of our decision. If you are not happy with our final response, you may refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). Other than the FOS, we do not provide details of an alternate dispute resolution provider for non-eligible complainants.

17. Financial Ombudsman Service

An impartial service to resolve complaints

The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent organisation that resolves disputes between customers and financial services firms.

You can refer your complaint to the FOS if we were unable to resolve your complaint within eight weeks or if you were not happy with our final response. However, any referral to the FOS must be within six months from the date you receive our final response to be eligible.
